mardi et mercredi

1st July

Aujourd’hui,
We woke up at 6.15 to be ready for breakfast at 7.30. After this we had to attend a French lesson, where we learnt how to order and buy ingredients. This was in order to be able to prepare our own lunch. Après, we visited a town called Bagnoles, where we had to find our way from a starting point to a destination by reading French instructions. Overall, it was a fantastic day..!! The weather was very hot and reach 33 degrees, helping us all to gain a tan.

2nd July

Aujourd’hui
Today was a very busy day but interesting at the same time with the weather letting us down. Firstly, we went and visited the British cemetery of those who died in fighting against the Germans invading France. C’était intéressant! It was very shocking to see how many British soldiers had fought and died for their country, helping us to achieve where we are today. We then visited a tapestry which was 70 metres long and was created to tell the story of the battle of Hastings in 1066. To finish the day off we visited where the soldiers had died trying to land on the beaches of Normandy, seeing the remains of the harbour. This gave out a message to show that people died for us, which made us all quite sad by looking at the age of some of the soldiers who were as young as 18. At 6.15 we had arrived back at the chateau and was all shattered. Dinner was served and most of us had tried snails for the 1st time. C’était délicieux! The most important part of the day was that it was one of our class mates birthday. We are all looking forward to the disco tomorrow evening.
